Free Backlink Analysis Tool for Ahrefs Exports
An Ahrefs export on its own is just a thousand rows of URLs. LinkScope reads the export, sorts every link into the type it actually is, lays your competitors side by side, and shows you the domains that link to them but not to you — so the sheet turns into a plan.
No sign-up. No upload — the file is parsed in your browser and never leaves your machine.
The tool
Add your own site's export first — it becomes “your site”. Every file after that is treated as a competitor. The site name for each file is read from the target domain inside the rows, so file names do not matter.
Drop Ahrefs export files here
CSV or TSV, UTF-8 or UTF-16. Multiple files welcome — first file is your site, the rest are competitors.
Tip: click a row's type to correct it. Your correction is saved in this browser and outranks the automatic rules.
| Referring URL | Site | Type | Reason | Confidence | DR | Traffic | Anchor | Follow | Tags |

Link mix by site
Each cell shows the share of that site's links that fall into the type, with the raw count underneath.
Where you trail the best competitor
For every link type: your share versus the best competitor's share, and how many links of that type you would need to match it.
Domains linking to competitors, not to you
These domains already link out to sites in your niche — the shortest path to a new placement. Click the DR header to sort.
Your 4-week plan, built from your actual gaps
Targets below are calculated from the measured gaps in your data — each week closes 25% of the gap in your three most-trailing link types.
How it works
1
Export from Ahrefs
In Ahrefs, open Site Explorer, go to Backlinks and export. Take the CSV as it comes — no cleaning, no column trimming. UTF-8 and UTF-16 both work, and so do TSV files.
2
Add your site, then your competitors
The first file you add is treated as yours; add as many competitors as you like. LinkScope reads the target domain out of the rows themselves, so the file name does not matter.
3
Read the gaps, build the plan
Every link is sorted and tagged, each site's mix is laid side by side, and the domains linking to your competitors but not to you come out as a list you can export.
What it does
18 link types, and a reason for each
Editorial, forum, blog comment, Q&A, profile, business listing, local citation, Web 2.0, social, press release, app listing, document, video, podcast, Wikipedia, resource page, redirect and more. Every row states which rule placed it there and how confident that rule is.
Authority is a tag, not a category
A DR 90 link from a messaging channel is still a social link — it just sits on a strong domain. Here the category stands on its own and the authority tag sits on top of it, so you can filter by either one.
It admits what a URL cannot tell you
No URL can prove whether a link was a guest post, an inserted mention or an organic one. Those rows are marked for review instead of guessed at, and one click corrects any of them — your correction outranks every rule and is saved in your browser.
Link intersect
Domains that link to your competitors but not to you already accept links in your niche. LinkScope pulls them into one sortable list you can export and work through.
Reads the whole export
Ahrefs exports carry far more than a URL and a DR. LinkScope also reads the author field, spam flag, UGC and sponsored markers, outbound link count, HTTP status and URL rating signals — the author field alone is one of the strongest guest-post signals there is.
Works beyond English
Article paths are matched across Spanish, Indonesian, Turkish, French, German, Russian, Vietnamese, Italian, Dutch and Polish, so a /noticias/ or /berita/ URL is recognised as editorial instead of falling to the bottom of the pile.
A roadmap from real gaps
The 4-week plan is computed from your measured gaps against your best competitor in each link type — not from generic targets. No gaps, no invented plan: the tool says so.
Nothing leaves your browser
The file is read and classified on your own machine. No upload, no account, and no server copy of your client's backlink profile.
Questions
Is this a live backlink checker?
No — LinkScope analyses the backlink export you already have from Ahrefs; it does not crawl the web or fetch live backlinks.
Is LinkScope free?
Yes. LinkScope is free to use, with no account and no sign-up. Add as many export files as you need.
Does my backlink data get uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is read and classified by JavaScript running in your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so a client's backlink profile never leaves your machine.
Do I need an Ahrefs subscription?
You need a backlink export to analyse. LinkScope is built around Ahrefs backlink exports in CSV or TSV form (UTF-8 and UTF-16 both work), and columns are matched by name rather than by position, so exports with reordered columns still parse.
How accurate is the classification?
Platform links are identified by the host itself — forums, social networks, Q&A sites, app stores, Wikipedia and press wires are reliable calls, and every row shows the rule that placed it and a confidence level. What a URL cannot prove — for example whether a link was a guest post or an organic mention — is flagged as needs review instead of guessed, and you can correct any row in one click. Your correction outranks the rules and is saved in your browser.
Can I get the results out?
Yes. Any filtered view of the table exports to CSV, including the link type, the reason it was chosen, the confidence, the tags and whether you corrected it. The link intersect list exports separately.
